Who We Are
Gospel Outreach Canada (GOC) is part of a worldwide movement sharing the hope of Jesus with those who have never heard His name. Established as a Canadian not-for-profit corporation in 1996, GOC works in partnership with Gospel Outreach USA, founded in 1990 and as a supporting ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Our focus is the 10/40 Window—a region stretching across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. This area is home to billions of people, most of whom have never had the opportunity to hear the gospel. GOC is particularly focused on the African nations within this window, where the need for hope, healing, and truth is great.
What We Do
Our work centers on supporting local, indigenous Bible workers and evangelists. These men and women live in the very communities they serve. They understand the culture, speak the language, and can build meaningful connections in ways outsiders cannot.
By raising funds in Canada, we provide stipends and resources that enable these evangelists to dedicate themselves full-time to sharing Jesus. Over time, new groups of believers form, congregations grow, and local churches become self-sustaining. Then, evangelists move on to another unreached area—multiplying the impact.
Our Vision
We share in Christ’s vision:
“This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” — Matthew 24:14
Through faith, prayer, and the Holy Spirit’s power, GOC seeks to continually expand the number of local workers in Africa, preparing lives for the soon return of Jesus.
“Nobody is going anywhere until the gospel has gone everywhere.”
Our Mission

Our mission is simple but urgent: to bring cost-effective evangelism to the 10/40 Window in Africa by empowering local evangelists to spread the good news in communities where Jesus is still unknown.
The 10/40 Window covers nearly 70 countries. It is one of the most spiritually challenging regions in the world. Predominant religions include Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism, alongside a large secular population. In many places, poverty and illiteracy compound the challenges of reaching people with the gospel. Yet, it is precisely here that God calls us to shine His light.
How It Works
GOC partners with Adventist Missions/Conferences within the 10/40 window of Africa through a clear and accountable process:
- Agency Agreement – GOC commits to supply funds that allow local leaders to support a set number of evangelists.
- Selection & Training – The Mission/Conference selects and equips evangelists who know the local language and culture.
- Placement – Workers are sent to unreached villages or towns to share the gospel and establish new congregations.
- Ongoing Support – GOC provides stipends and allowances so evangelists can serve full-time.
- Monitoring & Accountability – Evangelists report monthly to their Mission/Conference, which provides quarterly reports back to GOC. Volunteer Country Directors from North America also travel to audit the use of the funds and counsel, and encourage the local Gospel Outreach evangelists.
After three to five years, when a new church becomes self-sufficient, evangelists are reassigned to another unreached area. This cycle continues, multiplying results and ensuring long-term growth.
Our Targeted Territory
The 10/40 Window

The 10/40 Window is located between 10 degrees and 40 degrees north latitude. The term was coined by Christian missionary strategist Luis Bush in 1990 to help identify the area of the world least reached by the gospel story.
Many countries have multiple languages and dialects. Poverty and illiteracy are ways of life for the majority.
Gospel Outreach Canada is focused on Africa and is present in all the countries marked below:

Why It Matters
“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations, and then shall the end come”
Matthew 24:14
The world’s population now exceeds 7.9 billion. More than 3 billion people have never heard the name of Jesus. Astonishingly, 97% of the unreached live in the 10/40 Window.
Yet, less than one-tenth of one percent of Christian mission spending is directed here. That means the vast majority of resources go to places where the gospel is already known, while billions remain in darkness. Every day, 66,000 people die without knowing Christ. The urgency is real. The stakes are eternal. This is why Gospel Outreach Canada exists—to help fulfill Christ’s Great Commission by focusing on the world’s most neglected mission field.
“There is enough evangelism taking place today to reach the world dozens of times. Unfortunately, most of it is happening among people who have already heard the gospel”
K. P. Yohannan, founder of Gospel for Asia
Why You Should Care?
Every day 66,000 people die with no knowledge of Jesus.
“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves”
James 1:22 (NKJV)
